Actually I auditioned for a band a couple of months ago that was Punk/Rockabilly/Ska/Rap :freak: Needless to say, I actually walked out half way thru the audition. I'm listening to Mos Def right now. I think if more commercial rap sounded like Mos Def, hiphop would have a lot more credibiity with old fart musicians who post on internet forums.
