Have you ever really been blown away by anyone’s voice / singing on here?

I know we’re generally all here to learn, improve, have fun and we’re all on slightly different levels of advancement…

And I’m not naming names cause I don’t want to exclude or single out people, but there are…3 people on this section and 2 people on another section of this forum who REALLY impress me with their voices, and I am in awe of their voices…they to me could literally sing ANYTHING and sound amazing.

Anyone?

Ya, most of you regulars intimidate the {censored} out of me because you seem to have so much versatility in your voice & seem to know what your doing. Make me feel like a novice who has no idea about recording/effects/mics/vocal technique. Truth be told, I still have a lot to learn anyways.

Oh wow, really? I didn’t know that. I’m not intimidated by anyone on here!

I for one don’t know anything technical about singing or the voice, you know…everything I “do” is just instinctive and learned (whether rightly or wrongly) through my own limited experiences of singing in my bedroom. Lol.

Right, but with me I used to not even be able to sing on pitch except in pure head voice. I have no natural talent, I've had to work my ass off for everything I've got right now with my voice. So I feel intimidated by how easily it comes to most of you(even though you have to put in the hard work too)

Yes, admittedly what I can do right now in my level of capabilities does, and has always, come easy for me. I can only say that without feeling like an arrogant asshole because there are MANY things I can’t do that I wish I could, and am still learning and growing and all of that…

But in my opinion, the fact you’ve come so far, from not even being able to sing in tune to singing for those people last week! You know? That’s amazing, man! How is someone like me, for example, having things come easy and with not much effort, but who’s NEVER sung in public and is too afraid to do much about changing that, any better than what YOU have done??

Hah I guess that's a good point... just get out there and do something grace, your talent requires it be shared!! I must admit though having worked my ass off to get here makes whatever accomplishments I get feel so good and makes me feel in control.

tl;dr GRACE GET IN SOME TYPE OF PERFORMANCE GROUP FOR YOUR VOICE

Mmm. I don’t want to be in a group I realised, like a choir. I want to be THE singer…or a singer with another person who sings sometimes, etc.

But yeah, because you’ve accomplished what you have, it automatically (now) gives you some sort of confidence and sense of achievement. Whereas for me, because I’ve never done anything or felt I’ve worked at it, I haven’t developed that accomplishment feeling and confidence…

Well then join a band you lazy woman!!!!

*snort* Haha! But I don’t want to be in a band either! I want to do MY OWN songs with either some sort of band or my partner, preferably the latter.

Everyone on here has their own merits in terms of singing. Although some people have a lot to work on (myself included ). But nevertheless everyone's got good points to their voices/singing. I don't like to mention names either but this thread would be kinda pointless, right?

They may not necessarily be regulars, but recently that GJaunz guy with his Buckley cover sounded really impressive to me. In terms of versatility maybe Gracie and Eightstring, you guys can cover many types of songs well. Static with his new youtube video, seems like a really good live rock voice. And also another singer here, who's voice I've always liked a lot would be Micwalt. He's got good range and tone.

Yeah, lol, without names it is pointless, but I just felt bad saying anyone's name...not for the named ones, but for the NON-named ones, you know?

lol. good. I'm picky with voices. Very. Which is kinda ironic considering I'm in no way the best singer here! But meh. That's ok.

Oh, I get depressed at my lack of vocal ability when I hear some of the folks here.

Several people here have quality voices that blow me away.

I can hit notes, but I don't have that "quality" sound that makes people want to listen.

But I am always inspired by some of the people here to try to do a better job in my singing,

and for that I thank you.

Awww, that's gorgeously sweet! I feel kinda the same way about certain people...some just have that special SOMETHING, you know?

Not yet, but I don't get "blown away" all that easily. There are some quite good singers here though.

PS: I think naming names here is highly unproductive. This thread appears to serve little purpose but to stroke or bruise egos IMO.

Well, that's why I didn't set out to name names.

I just wondered if here, on a forum of non-professional (generally) singers or aspiring-to-be-better singers, anyone was seriously impressed by another person on here.

Good thread! I thing there are two kinds of singers, technical and raw talent here...I won't go into who's who but as far as wasted natural talent and potential I would have to say that Grace shows over and over again that you could be a great singer in front of an audience but waste you talent and potential sharing only with us here...if you lived here close to NYC I think things would be different...

There are many others here that are great but the only one that makes me scratch my head on why you are not using your talent is you Grace!

Chester Hoss is an amazing vocalist. Blew me right off my feet.

i also get goosebumps when i listen to myself.
