Contrasting synth to a Prophet 08

I would check out a Jupiter 6 before getting a Juno 6/60. I thought about geting a 60 but, can't imagine it sounding better than my JP6. I also feel the JP6 sounds better than the Juno 106 I had. As you know the JP-8000 is digital and is going to sound that way.

I would look for something that can do more punch/bass than the P08. For more than monophonic, Juno 60 is no bad idea.

Testing the P'08 told me it could out-punch the Juno. It's more refined, yes, but it still outpunches it.

how bout fm?

the dx-200 or better yet a sy/tg-77

that would contrast an analog nicely.

EFM1 in Logic does a fine FM job for my needs already and I also have Operator in live although I prefer EFM1.

Good suggestions but I'll pass.

Triton Extreme 61 w/MOSS :poke:

Yes I know. Use it more. It's a fine synth but sometimes I want a fuller sound source. Your was the same suggestion from another old British buddy to simply get my hands on some high quality Juno 60 and /or Jupiter 6 samples and load them into the Triton.

I'll admit that that's probably the best idea but I'm also looking at attracting others to work with and a Juno 60 is attractive, versatile, a one of the least intimidating synths around.

Think about it. If you wanted to broaden your scope across musical and commercial genre's and keep things minimal, what kit would you consider? Then look at my kit list.

My gas for another Nord Lead 2X is waning as I use the Prophet and Triton more.

I've wanted another Jupiter 6 for quite some time but I feel that the used prices for them are often too high.
