Members carbon111
Beautiful work! I'd hate to have to wire and loom the panels though. He did an immaculate job!

Members willi
It's got vintage sound out-of-the-box! This project used recycled parts whenever possible. This included approximately 70% of the capacitors, 60% of the switches, 50% of the integrated circuits, 90% of the connectors, and all of the power supplies, regulators, wire, enclosures, and the small hardware such as screws, bolts, washers, etc.
Members urbanscallywag
HAH, so some people go and replace all the caps in their old synth, and this guy uses them?!
Members carbon111
He tosses the electrolytics... The guy is probably just extremely thrifty. There's probably a BIG ball of string 'round back as well.

There's probably a BIG ball of string 'round back as well. LOL. When I was a kid, I scavanged most of my parts from old TVs and radios. I had quite an eclectic mix of big-ass resisters and probably dried-out electrolytics. Good times, good times.
Members willi
Yeah his site has a lot of projects that focus on ingenuity and scrap parts. I imagine the power supply caps are new, though. Lovely project, the front panel is accomplished nicely as well (a quality print, laminated, epoxied onto and trimmed to fit the front aluminum sheet).
