What guitar body to use in this build??

I plan on building a simple guitar, just a 1 humbucker 1 volume 1 tone. The humbucker is going to be a Bill Lawrence L-500XL. I would very much prefer it to be angled. The question is..what body?

I'd go with a strat type with a swimming pool route. Then you can put the pup at an angle, straight or just about anywhere depending on if you wish to make your own pick guard. And later, if one pup ain't enough, you got options

Do you intend to build this with a pick guard, a pickup bezel, or an open pocket?

Sounds like your setting up something simple and to the point. I dont know what you budget is but I would say a Japenese Charvel Model 1 body would hit the spot eventhough its not angled. If you have a little more cash and time, I would say wait and hunt down a USA Charvel body form the golden era. They dont come up often though. I bulit a Japanese charvel body and neck with a bill lawrence XL500 nice tone and simple. If you want it angled try and find a BC rich gunslinger. There is a guitar on ebay right now for about 3 and change called the outlaw. Black body angled cavity and the neck.
