Keyboard Magazine Subscription Scam

It looks like the scammers got me! I got a renewal notice back in April and without thinking much about it went ahead and wrote out the check and sent it in. Later I got a second renewal notice but again didn't think much of it figuring they hadn't processed the first one yet.

Recently I noticed that my subscription didn't seem to go through as the expiration date on my magazine hasn't seemed to change. I went to the Keyboard mag website forum and low and behold there's a warning to look out for scams. Damn! So I looked it up in my Money program and saw that the check hadn't cleared as of May's bank statement, however, I recently got the June statement and sure enough that check went through.

Well obviously I'm not happy about it but isn't it weird to think that ppl would go to so much trouble to rip off $12????

I mean someone has to endorse the checks right? And at $12 a pop aren't you really taking a rather ridiculous chance at getting busted?

I guess I don't know but I'd think even sleazeballs would aim their sights a little higher.

In all my years of magazine subscriptions I've never seen the like. It's a shame that a fine magazine's reputation could be damaged by such silliness.
