Members Liverneck
cool man, Interesting that you use a trad grip with the right hand. you play the single hand sextuplets well. I like the left hand switching between the index and middle fingers, good bounce and control. Good thumb control to. kinda reminded me of Bridgeman in 83. Nice vids. Members techristian
That is why I call this thing the "UNCONVENTIONAL GRIP" I have only been doing the finger thing since I was in Nashville watching Art Verdi. I had to completely re-learn for both the left and right hands. It has only been 4 months. I know that there is incredible potential for this grip for competition. Here is how I am using the new practice technique..... At 170 BPM I would be able to hit 1020 with both hands if I could play the TRIPLET exercise continually without a break. I'm working on TWO THINGS with this practice exercise. 1) I will continue to speed up the metronome to play those runs faster. 2) I will try to play those runs longer and longer without a break. When EACH hand ALONE can play triplets without stopping for 1 minute at 200 BPM, I will be up to 1200 for competition. Each hand will play 600 per minute. Members CoolDrum3
Between this and the one handed roll, I think I finally have something new to master . I never really bothered with speed and my stick control was limited to what I had learned from my marching experience...which was quite a bit, however.
