Members mparsons
What other rudiments are good to practice?
Members 1001gear
Give the singles extra attention. Practice doubles, triples, quads, etc. as successive singles. Also learn to play figures with strict alternate sticking. That is, alternating one tap per hand regardless of the rhythm. Practice both right lead and left lead. Members boomboomdrums
Aside from the obvious statement of "learm 'em all", I'd add that swiss army triplets and flammed swiss army triplets are cool and can come in very handy on the kit. Swiss Army triplets are (obviously) triplets with this sticking RRL RRL RRL RRL etc. or LLR LLR LLR LLR LLR. You can also add a flam on the first not of each triplet. Also Flam Accents: (F)RLR (F)LRL (F)RLR (F)LRL. AN F in front of the note indicates a flam. If at all possible get a teacher to help you out with these. Like anything else, there are tricks and right and wrong ways to do them to get full benefit.
Members coyote-1
All good suggestions so far, with 1001gear's being tops.... Give the singles extra attention. Practice doubles, triples, quads, etc. as successive singles. Also learn to play figures with strict alternate sticking. That is, alternating one tap per hand regardless of the rhythm. Practice both right lead and left lead. Also - when doing doubles triples & quads, practice both natural rebound AND controlled individual hits from the wrist. I think 1001 is saying that above, but it needs to be emphasized.

I always thought that the Swiss Army Triplet was, by definition, flammed...
