Even if you just want a wall of shimmer; What color? How loud? All the time? Only certain sections? You could get unanimous approval here and discover they're zoned entirely wrong for your purposes. (not likely but a possibility nonetheless) Point is you have to discover how stuff actually works for you. That said, if Sabian says they're top shelf, they probably are. Try 'em out. Members FitchFY Posted November 26, 2007 Members Share Posted November 26, 2007 I love the Sabian Vault crashes. I have an 18" on my kit and play predominantly hard rock, and it's beautiful. Bright, shimmering, articulate, and loud. HOWEVER, for the typical metal drummer, I'd imagine it would break, as it's not particularly thick and may not respond well to the usual hard-hitting that's associated with metal.
