Members thelegacy
My friend gave me a cool little HHX splash a while ago, but it's from the vault tour and has something written on it in sharpie. I want it gone. Germ-ex maybe?
Members 1001gear
Rubbing alcohol maybe.
Members bodinski
Acetone (nail polish remover) will do it, and so will Meguiar's cleaner wax (car wax).
Members thelegacy
will these erode or damage the cymbal?
Members 1001gear
If it has a brilliant finish, acetone might dissolve it. Plain metal? Nah. Be careful around the logo.
Members marko46
Acetone should'nt hurt it, but mineralspirits / paint thinner will work just as well. Test any of them under the bell first if your worried, but you should have no problems.
Members 2xBass
If none of those work, just give me the cymbal, I'll be fine with a little ink

Members thelegacy
i used tubbing alcohol, worked like a charm. However, underneath the sharpie, the metal was very clean and shiny, so you can still see where it was written.. lol it looks much better
Members e-b-e
Where was the writing? Typically the Sabian HHX cymbals are signed from one of the people in the factory, inside the bell. I can't recall offhand if the Evolution HHX cymbals have Dave Weckl's signature on them inside the bell.

Members Living Dead Drummer
I had two 19" Crash's without logos on them, one was a Med. Crash and the other Rock, so I would wright on them "Med" or "Rock" all the time with Sharpie. Buckaroo Cymbal polish takes it right off like a dry erase marker as long as it's a brilliant finish. Members Merlin Coryell
I would recommend some acetone or nail polish remover with or without acetone. Very cheap and easy to find. I use it to remove the logos from cymbals when they start to look bad, and it doesnt effect brilliant finishes at all, as all of my A Customs are as shiny as they were brand new, you just cant tell what they are since all the logos are gone. I know this will work on Sharpies, as I use them to mark hardware and clamps, and use it to remove the marking when I move something around.
