Heard a song, drummer was using a splash cymbal, had to have one.{the early signs of cymbal addiction} Typical drummer,no money,so I searched craigslist and found a 12" B8 splash, single braced stand, and The subject of our story , a no-name 16" crash all for a 20 spot.Sold the cheesy stand for twenty and about a year later sold the b8 splash for 30$.So a cold winter night had the fire going good in the fireplace. Bored so I started cleaning up the drums and found this poor excuse of a crash cymbal.Nasty sounding, couldn't give it away type.Looked at the fire, the log holder was turning orange hot. So I put the cymbal in the fire, good fire. After about 20mins I took it out, with pliers and went into the garage.Found a ball/peen hammer and spelled out my name in script in some fine hammering, those Turkish guys would have been proud.Hammering can make you tired, so back into the fire it went while I took a break. Lost track of time:facepalm:, cymbal is almost glowing hot.Time for more hammering, over zealous this time and messed up my name, angry now so tried to make it a china cymbal. Didn't work so back in the fire. I had a plan this time, I was going to give it that sound-edge or mastersound look.Once again out of the fire and now using the claw of a frame hammer tried to reshape this waste of bronze. Failed, so now just flatting the edge some what, a little fire a little more hammering and a slow cooling off with cold water:lol:.Taking my work and mounting it on the stand, it looked kinda bad.Hitting with the stick makes babies cry and dogs squeal. No not really but it now has a very loud trashy sound to it and a few extra hammering marks on it.---Hand hammered
