Members Carminemw
The finish, the lacquer, the pattern, the wood, the stain and varnish...EVERYTHING COUNTS when it comes to pricing...got a set down here that's like 5K with a blue fade and regular hardware. The store I work for (teach at) just blew out a 3 year old bibunga for 1K...go figure!
Members marko46
+1 on both of the above responses. And, IMO, DW is not all that they're cracked up to be. Not saying that they don't make great drum kits, but they aren't the 'Lamborghini" of the drum world by any means. I think you're paying that much just because of the DW name. Look around. manoeuver mentioned these: http://www.odery.com.br/reviews/md_042005.pdf Now, I haven't ever played a kit, but they sure are SEXY!
