Members JMR
http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/msg/1402575653.html he identified the badge as this one so I know it's a '70s as he claimed. he said he believed the wood was maple. I'm trying to figure out what series it is, because apparently he doesn't know.
Members SYMBOLIC
To me it looks like the "Classic" series because it has the modular tom mounts, and modular bass drum spurs. If so it's not 100% maple, but maple and poplar.
Members lossforgain
SYMBOLIC is right. These are late 70s Classics, 6-ply maple/poplar shells with no reinforcement rings. My least favorite Ludwig shells -- that's also what they were making during their "dark ages" (aka the 80s). The price isn't bad though, and if the snare isn't a piece of junk they could be good for a gigging kit. Refinish or rewrap though, PLEASE. Members Gremson
Sure looks purdy. I'd play 'em if they didn't sound like {censored}.
