Are these worth it?

PAISTE SIGNATURES -- All Signature Series -- 21" Dry Heavy Ride - $200; 20" Crash - $200; 18" Crash - $180; 16" Crash - $150; 14" Crash - $120; 14" Sound Edge Hi Hats - $240; 12" Micro Hi Hats - $200; 10" Splash - $95; 8" Splash - $85

** Road Runner Cymbal Bag w/collapsable handle/wheels/dividers (brand new) - $75

** Road Runner Cymbal Bag w/shoulder strap (brand new) - $50

I paid almost $4000 for all the Paistes through Guitar Center. I sold my kit back in April, and the cymbals are doing me no good. I will sell EVERYTHING listed above for $1200 (cymbals, bags). If not, then prices are as listed. You will not find a better deal anywhere else on gear of this quality. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY.

I wouldn't need all of them, but I figured if $1200 was a good deal, I could pick them up and upgrade from my B8's. Selling what I didn't need off of these, and selling the Sabians would make it a pretty inexpensive upgrade for me.

I don't think the prices are that great...depends on your market, I guess, but $180 for a used (read unwaranteed) 18" Signature crash doesn't seem like an 'awesome deal' in my mind.

Keep in mind, if this guy was to try and sell them back to GC, he'd get ~$36-$50 for that same cymbal ($2/inch, maybe more if they want to do him a solid...).

Obviously, the private market will pay more because there's no need to leave room for resale profit, but a quick Google search shows list on a brand new Signature of that size is $582; 40% off is $350, and if you know someone at a drum store or find a place willing to deal if you're price shopping, there is still room to go down on that (depending on how good they want to treat you, another 5-8% can be done, easy). Let's say you get it new for $325.

To me, a LOT of the price of a new cymbal is the piece of mind I get from the waranty coverage. Once that's gone, there's significant depreciation, even if the cymbal has never been hit. I'd say start from $325 above for new, and knock 50% off of that to find a 'good deal' (but still, not a great, must have one).

I've noticed a nasty trend on CL lately: People selling things for almost EXACTLY what they're truly worth.

I blame it on all of the info available on the intranetz....and on guys like you people with all your 'helping' and 'offering sound advise'.

Knock it off, a-holes!

LFG manages to find deals. Maybe he just know what words to put out there for the seller to come down in price reguardless of what the web says.
