Members Mukund
Hey everyone Here is my take on the song Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO. A really fun song to play !! Hope you enjoy it One last thing- I know all of you will say post it in that video section which is a sticky. The reason i dont post there is because no one looks at the video and i dont get feedback.
Members FitchFY
So think of it this way... If someone had the video turned off, but listened to what you played... what are you looking to achieve? I mean, you played along to a straight 4 disco-rock tune. I get that. And hey, you're on time, your upbeat hi-hats are crisp and well-accented, but, for the love of God, of ANY band to cover, why the dickens would you do the 2012 equivalent to the frigging Village People? "YMCA" has been done, son. I still don't know what to think of you as a poster, but as a drummer from watching your other videos, you just shot yourself in the foot by posting this. Members FitchFY
Actually, I didn't go anywhere. You posted it here. It seems that what you're looking for is someone to tell you "OMG, ur stix twirrrls are sooooo good"? I mean, kudos to you for adding some showmanship into some playing -- that's always cool -- but I just don't get why you're doing these videos outside of some personal need for people to see what you're doing. That's bassackwards. What makes YOU drum?

Members Buckin Fastard
I was about to go all out defending Mukund from the hoards of hypocrites but then I re-read the thread. Mukund, what these guys are saying, particularly Fitch and 1k1 is true. If you want to get better then go in and work on your foundation. Rudiments, dynamics, less stick twirly-twirl. It doesn't make sense for you to ask for advice then get defensive when it's given. Defeats the purpose. Ghost can be added to that sound. But you can't comprehend that now because of your own mechanical and rhythmic limitations. I disagree with Fitch on playing to that song, however. If you think about it was the period of your drumming formulation built on long, epic songs with complicated parts or were you learning with the basics and happy as a lark when you were finally able to hit that John Bonham snare-rack-floor tom triplet without messing up? Yanno, the part you can play now without thinking about it. I say cut dude some slack and let him "get there". On the flip side, Mukund these guys have high expectations. They aren't here to destroy you but they won't let be a bull{censored} player either. Keep working on it. I think that if you really want some advice record vids of you performing rudiments then ask for help in developing your technique. You will matriculate much faster.
