Do you ever feel like you 'forget' how to sing?

Yeah so sometimes I feel like I'm having a rather easy time going up and down the scale, but then some other times I feel like I have no idea whatsoever about how to ascend or descend without losing comfort or clarity.

Anyone knows what I'm talking about and how to fix it?

All the time. I think that this kind of thing is simply part of the process--two steps forward, one step back. The back-step is disturbing, but in my experience the voice always rights itself. Over time the progress is undeniable.

 Sometimes it doesn't pay to try to bang away at it. Walk away, let things be; when you return the next day I'd be willing to bet that the problem is solved. YMMV, of course.

My experience is the opposite. If I haven't sung or vocalized for over a day or two, I feel that my voice gets worse. But once I get back into routine, my voice returns to normal. I think its really important to practice regularly so you don't forget the "sensation" of singing. If you make a breakthrough in your singing or establish a new concept, you have to try your best to memorize that same feeling and keep it.
