Members Masklin
Yeah so sometimes I feel like I'm having a rather easy time going up and down the scale, but then some other times I feel like I have no idea whatsoever about how to ascend or descend without losing comfort or clarity. Anyone knows what I'm talking about and how to fix it?
Members Jersey Jack
All the time. I think that this kind of thing is simply part of the process--two steps forward, one step back. The back-step is disturbing, but in my experience the voice always rights itself. Over time the progress is undeniable. Sometimes it doesn't pay to try to bang away at it. Walk away, let things be; when you return the next day I'd be willing to bet that the problem is solved. YMMV, of course.
Members Masklin
Perhaps you're right. It would be neat with a quickfix, though. Schnerpy herp.

Members grace_slick
Sometimes I get this too. Some days are just "off" days for me, and I've noticed these since I was in my early teens. I'd shrug 'em off and the next day I was fine.
Moderators davie Posted October 1, 2012 Moderators Share Posted October 1, 2012 My experience is the opposite. If I haven't sung or vocalized for over a day or two, I feel that my voice gets worse. But once I get back into routine, my voice returns to normal. I think its really important to practice regularly so you don't forget the "sensation" of singing. If you make a breakthrough in your singing or establish a new concept, you have to try your best to memorize that same feeling and keep it. Members staticsound
I think it's pretty normal for everybody...is for me anyways. I have my "off" days too. I wouldn't stress over it.
Members Masklin
Alcohol can not be the problem since I don't drink alcohol. I'm gonna go with Jack's +2 -1 idea and leave it at that, I think.
Members grace_slick
No alcohol, eh? Yeah, just try not to worry about it. If the "off" days persist and become more frequent or you notice them more often than the good days, then it's a problem you would have to think about and work on...
