Members bobc
I try to avoid the singing forums because I'm not confident when it comes to my singing, and I don't want to get crucified by people who actually know how to sing. I love singing and writing my own songs, but I have learned a few covers over the years. I don't sing or play professionally, but I do perform at several open mic's. I have been learning this song for the past couple days, and was wondering if you could have a listen and tell me if you think my voice is ok or not. I am playing the guitar and singing at the same time, and also reading the words as i'm singing. I know I can get the vocal better once I have them memorized. http://soundclick.com/share?songid=9743192 Thanks in advance, and don't be to hard on me... Members Masklin
It took a few seconds but your voice is actually very pleasant.
Members ido1957
I give you a "B". There's a couple of spots at the end of phrase/words where you go flat. It sounds like you know your song well cause you're singing all the phrases right and they're tasty. I'd practice this a few more times until you can sing it without thinking. Or while thinking about what happened at work that day and before you know it your'e done. Is this a little low for you? I'm hearing some difficulties in the lowest notes... Members urca
Yeah, something's up with the lower notes otherwise sounds really cool.
Members Jersey Jack
Sounds good, but perhaps you should consider raising the key a bit? You seem to be on the very low end of your range for most of the tune. Even as is, however, you pull it off nicely. The flaws are nothing a little dedicated practice wouldn't fix. I can't recall now....This is Gerry and the Pacemakers, right? (Or perhaps the Dave Clark 5?)

Dude, you have got to reevaluate your own perception of yourself:thu: To me your voice sounded better than your guitar which was smooth. Songs with lower notes that go up an octave or several notes will be harder to *nail* but as JJack had said nothing a lil practice won't fix. You've got a rather unique voice, especially in the lower registers. I would build on that. I don't hear any issues at all that glare out. Keep it up ! Your perception isn't proportional to your talent. Be more confident because we all can hear it.
