The Ray Cooper you mentioned as dying in July must be someone other than longtime Elton John percussionist Ray Cooper who is still living and playing. I might suggest a little more specificity in cases in which there are two people in the music business with the same name. Another example is Dave Holland; the first one I thought of was the bassist who has played with Miles Davis and many others, before I realized you meant the Judas Priest drummer.
