3d hum

A disappointing amp. Valve amplification has a lot of merit, giving extended tonal range with touch sensitive strings and rich harmonic drive. Sadly the Ampeg PF50T I received had none of these qualities. Though rated at 50w, the amp was drowned out by my 6w class A Cornford. Although costing the same, the PF50T is made in China which may explain the poor quality control. The amp hummed loudly, deeming it useless for recording. Tonally was shallow and cold. With such low gain would not be heard over practice amp, let alone a drum kit deeming a fail for live situations. Sadly is going back to the retailer asap.
