  3. Originally posted by SteveVHT Just make sure that you use the shredded lettuce solder. I found that it gives the best tone. Thanks Bob....you're a life saver... Steve I don't like lettuce solder, too much roughage. Shoestring spaghetti with a chocolate sauce is the way to go.
  4. Send me your amps and I'll handwire them for $10.03 a piece.
  5. Originally posted by Digital Jams This was a pretty cool thread but but it is starting to suck big time You PTP freaking snobs need to enjoy playing more and stop worrying about the TGP lurkers. I will play on just about anything to hang with the guys. Some of you guys are making me maddy maddy Don't tell me what to do. You're not the boss of me. PCB=SUCK
  6. Originally posted by CatsGoMoo It's closed. Start a new thread to talk. Stop breaking your own rules, Bob. How's Fishy the clockfish, by the way? I hereby rescind all rules.
  7. Originally posted by carlygtr56 Looks like a PC inside to me. People are posting the inards of single channel amps, Dooshentribe....deal with it. Who cares what it looks like inside? It's what comes out of the speakers that matters... deal with it.
  8. Originally posted by tweed food ...im getting hungry. I could really use a pizza and a few Stone IPA's about now.
  9. Originally posted by Duesentrieb Four weeks ago he badly wanted to try an Einstein, but couldn't find a PTP version . . . Why, oh why . . . I could have rewired one for him. I rewire all the PCB amps I buy.
  10. Originally posted by CatsGoMoo Well, then. It's settled. This thread is officially closed. What do you guys want to talk about next?
  11. Originally posted by SteveVHT So to summarize what you said... There are no amps made today that compare to old ones?????? This is correct. The amps of today cannot hold a candle to those 35 years ago. This is a scientifically proven fact.
  12. Originally posted by CatsGoMoo I have a feeling that they would have sounded just as amazing no matter what amps they were playing. Wrong, they would have sucked through the POS PCB amps of today.
  13. Guys, listen to Carly, he knows about "good" tone from the 60's and 70's, after which, the era of "good" tone ended except for those still striving for the tone of players 35 years ago.
  14. Originally posted by Duesentrieb Was he a left hander? I don't know, but I guess I should look into it because if he was, I'll have to do the left hand mod on the amp or it won't sound right... I mean, left.
  15. Originally posted by Duesentrieb Such a shame . . . just converted to PTP and now this It doesn't matter anyway, I'm only concerned with that twangy, Buddy Holley tone, and no modern amp can do it.
  16. Originally posted by Duesentrieb I never knew that there are so many tech experts in this forum - I hope that they all will join the more sophisticated discussions and threads too. I don't share my knowledge. They're trade secrets that cannot be revealed, even under an NDA.
  17. Originally posted by yabba maybe it's upside down though, in which case it might be a Leddit Moc I've seen a Leddit Moc and that's not it.
  18. Originally posted by BAZGUITARMAN Please excuse my ignorance, but what is that amp? Eric Looks like it says "cow tipper" on the side. My guess is it's a Cow Tipper. I wonder if they called it that after a cow fell on it?

  20. Originally posted by hal9000 Bob, I see you've updated your massive gear list 8 years early. You get an A for effort. No, it's not quite done yet, but I will have it completely by the due date.
  21. Originally posted by pink freud why hasnt anybody pointed out yet that the decibles out of a 100w amp are usually not that much louder than a 50w. It's not necessary, because the troll really isn't interested, or smart enough to understand the concept.
  22. Originally posted by D/FW XJ'er = teh lose. 100 watt tube amps weren't meant to be played at bedroom levels. But keep wanking away. How I long for the days when trolls were creative, and had IQ's higher than 43.
  23. Dang man, what a freaking mess! I'd leave the dispute. This thing was a mess from the getgo, and I would not trust the seller. Tell him to call Fedex to come and inspect the damage. If they claim it's poor packing, tell the guy he needs to send a call tag to have it picked up and shipped back to him.
  24. My wallet justifies my equipment, my playing has nothing to do with it.
