Belated NGD-Les Paul Traditional Iced Tea Burst
Vintage55 replied to pvwolfgang5150's topic in Electric Guitars
HNGD!! I've been considering a Traditional myself, in the same color. Did you have to play a number of this model to find one you liked? I'm tempted to order one, but I hesitate, knowing how much Gibsons can vary from one guitar to the next. :thu: -
Does the tone of a guitar affect its appearance?

And the Grammy for most ridiculous post in this thread goes to...I just can't decide. Epi56 for comparing the likes of Pete Townsend and The Grateful Dead to Taylor Swift...or Vintage55 for essentially stating that those particular artists are talentless. Good job fellas. I'll just call it a tie. I wanna win! What stupid thing do I need to say to take the prize?! I know...the whole thing is just another Reality Show...kinda like Jersey Shore...!!! -

No Talent Of The Year gets Album Of The Year.... see...the average smuck (read that as "the music industry") has no taste whatsoever... No offense Dave, but at least Beyonce IS doable... Taylor would end up being just like her music...ho hum... -

my bad. she's not great (obviously) but I consider anyone who can write a decent song that appeals to people talented. I sure as hell can't The average person likes "{censored}".... You should be happy you can't write a {censored} song... -

Taylor swift was never on american idol Of course not...you missed my point. Read what I said again. I said that if she was an unknown from wherever-the-{censored} she's from and were to audition she wouldn't even get to Hollywood to get weeded out for the actual show. No talent... -

Does Neil Young sing "well?" Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen, Pete Townshend. I remember trying to get my friends in 1978 to get on board with the Boss. Took 'em to No Nukes movie and they all hated him thought he was a phony playing up the to the camera. Jackson Browne was the fave. I remember the first time I heard After The Goldrush and that voice was a bit strange. Actually same w/Springsteen. Grateful Dead seemed to have a nice long career with no notable "singers" Oh by the way, I am not a huge fan of Taylor's but she has gained a sizeable audience, plays guitar and writes songs. Not bad. John Lennon was 23 when Meet The Beatles came out in America. Only time will tell with Taylor. No one (but me who was the only person in my circle of friends who championed her) thought Madonna would still be here. Oh yeah another "non" singer. Funny you should mention these particular artists, none of whom I ever thought could sing and none of whom I ever listened to. They were made popular by the "average Joe and Jane"...and those folks have {censored} for taste...or the ability to appreciate real talent. That's why so many truly great singers/performers get overlooked year in and year out...the bad taste of the average smuck. That's not to say some really good talent doesn't slip through cracks...there are plenty of examples of truly talented performers who make it anyway. Somehow they overcome the hurdle of getting past the "I wouldn't know good if it smacked me in the face" types who make up the majority. There is something about Neil Young, though.... -

I don't understand the infatuation people seem to have with Taylor Swift. The girl really doesn't sing very well. If she was unknown and auditioned for American Idol, she would never get that gold ticket to Hollywood, much less have a chance to sing on TV. No real voice... -

Ummm..nope. Greenday won before, mainstream music is horrendous always has been. they rotate the awards...and you're right, mainstream music is rarely very good. -

The Grammys have a tendency to spread the wealth around at times. Makes more artists "Grammy Winners!". It's not always who really deserves the award. -
Ever buy an amp, sell it, only to want it again?

Only a couple. A Peavey Classic 30 head a couple of years ago and way back a Dan Armstrong "The Dan". That was the biggest mistake... -
recommend a pedal to help my solos cut through the mix.

HAO Rust Booster....a little bit of grit if you want it, otherwise it just smashes it's way thru the mix... -
I've sold $5000 worth of stuff on eBay in the last 6 months, and nothing was over $400 and alot below $100, so that's alot of auctions. Depending on what it is, I'll start my price at about 1/3 to 1/2 of what I want and list for 3 days, no reserve. I only run my auctions for 3 days to avoid too many alternatives popping up for interested buyers. The key is good pics, detailed description and having the auction end at the right time. I've paid the bills for the past few months due to eBay, and some gun sales on another auction site.
