  1. Would you mind making clips? I LOVE my Timefactor. i'm not very good at making clips. the clips on the Eventide site are actually very good. and there's some up on Youtube that are really good. one of the things i'm trying to do this winter is get a good recorded sound. if i can learn to do that, clips will be a lot more forthcoming.
  2. wow, seems i'm the envy of the forum. see the upper right:
  3. i have one of these. its the best pitchshifter i've ever used, and i haven't even scratched the surface of what it can do yet. unbelievable pedal that kicked my tuner, octaver, and could probably kick the modulation off if i really learned how to get the most from it.
  4. i'm having this same issue with my telecaster. don't need it, but every time i play it i can't put it down. i say keep it. if its actually a rare piece, then the price will continue to go up.
  5. While I get what you're saying, I hear "fail" so often from the most obnoxious of people, clinging to an internet meme that has been around for years and they discovered last week, that I get sick of it, too.
  6. Green day are watered down radio friendly bull{censored}. always have been, always will be.
  7. hmmm... Billy Joe Armstrong. My wife was watching the AMA's the other night and it's scary when Green Day is the only thing resembling rock music. The guy used to be a monster player, now he's just eh. don't kid yourself. Billie Joe Armstrong has never been, and never will be, a "monster player".
  8. +1. Damn, I've seen more of this happening the past year or two. Yes, it needs to be said, but the hipster crowd needs to set these down. the past year? try the past 10 years. and who made you the arbiter of what other people should play?
  9. the strat, tele, and precision body shapes; as they've actually been deemed generic in a court of law.
  10. This black ibanez roadster II was my first real guitar. I bought it new in 1986, and I still play it to this day. Really a great guitar. i didn't know you had a Jem?!
  11. if your guitar playing experience was anything like mine, it went something like this: bug your parents to buy you a guitar. they get you some cheap POS and say "i'll get you a proper one when you can play something". i started playing on a 70s strat copy with a 3 barrel bridge in the summer of '91. after 2 years, i got my '93 MIJ Ibanez RG. its been heavily modified and beat the crap out of during the past 16 years, but sounds and plays great. what's yours?
  12. To me theres no better tone than the 4th position(bridge&middle) of a strat. Sounds great on just about any amp:thu: to me, there's nothing more awful than the 2 & 4 positions on a strat. they're like fingernails on a chalkboard to me, and i'd rather have them wired in series to sound like a humbucker.
  13. out of those 3, i only have a telecaster. so i voted telecaster. you're not gonna get me to pick a strat or LP. and if those were my only two choices, i'd probably go back to the piano.
  14. MIA, the difference is unbelieveable! you're right, i don't believe it. because its not necessarily true. the best value in the whole line are the MIM Classic and Deluxe series.
  15. i go with the guitar that feels the best. if that means MIM, then fine. i have no problem changing pickups and hardware to my taste.
  16. A LOT of Ed's stuff has not stood the test of time. has time told if he's stood the test of time?
  17. Van Halen is one of my earliest influences. 1984 came out when i was 6 and it is burned into my brain. but he's a douchebag and never should have hired Sammy.
  18. D'Addario Ernie Ball GHS DR i know all of these make their own strings. i've heard that Gibson, Fender, and Martin are all contracted. everybody else is suspect.
  19. if still available new would anyone (no just fanboys) really pay $1150? nope. despite making some really great equipment, peavey is still viewed by some as bottom of the barrel. they'd reintroduce it, but it'd never have the kinda success the company wants at that price. same reason nobody wants a $1k Ibanez RG.
  20. they're starting to go up in value. which may not mean much with a falling dollar.
  21. no, they're really not that bad. they're just not high gain pickups. they're your typical low/medium gain humbuckers. when i had them in my RG, they sounded really good. look at the pups people replace them with, and they're all higher gain humbuckers.
