  1. Some recording engineers just seem to turn this whole thing into one big pissing contest, proclaiming B.S. like what your 'recording major' told you. ANY piece of gear, and I mean ANY, can be called "PRO" if it is used in a professional, expressive, experimental, and sonically enriching manner. You go ahead and call your equipment whatever you want to call it, because its yours, and from what you said earlier, it sounds like you are having a damn good time using it all to make your soundscapes the best they can be. No one can take that away from you, no matter what Mr. Recording Major says to put you and your studio down. Forget everything he said, because although he may be looking at recording as a constant struggle to make the other guy feel lousy about his setup, the vast majority (I hope) of recording artists and engineers out there still hold true to what this was all about in the first place, the creation and sharing of music, an art that in the end has no right or wrong, an art that DOESN'T REQUIRE PROTOOLS to be brilliant, an art that transcends all the B.S. and acts as a vehicle, transporting our innermost feelings from our minds to our hands to the eager ears of listeners worldwide. Be proud of your work, your equipment, and yourself, because we musicians have something special, something honorable that stands undefinable and mysterious, something that your recording major may never get a glimpse of with such an attitude as his, even with a degree. If you can't appreciate and respect another engineers methods and equipment, then it just shows his own insecurities with the way he makes his art. Roland workstations aren't pro.... pfuuyyy! I pity the fool
