  1. Your bass is nice also. I like the playing. Some of your music sounds middle-eastern. Some of the sound reminds me of some new age music but not all of it. Keep plugging T Alan!
  2. Yes, WWWJD, Good answer. Just what I needed to hear. It bothers me they live so close. I don't like bad vibes. Anyway, I had a great day. Hope you did as well. YOu are quite welcome T Alan... and I am very into percussion sounds lately.. I have noticed them more. The roland my die someday. I also think this.
  3. I like your music Alan. Interesting. I don't listen to everyone all the time. I don't care what that person thinks of whether the Roland is Pro anymore. I care about what I think. I got over it. I am ordering the Plextor SCSI External burner tomorrow. Anyway, I like the interesting percussion sounds ...in your music.
  4. That's great that you had a successful song being played on the radio and didn't know what you were doing.! You know, success is just getting some people to appreciate your work. It is not in the numbers of people .... Of course I respect people who have vast numbers but not all the time, it depends. I also respect people who don't have vast numbers. Successful recording is touching some people and uplifting people. Music is about uplifting people. Enjoyment...not biting criticism. I focus on uplifting people though there are those people who don't know what music is about. I don't always have to listen to the most highly produced albums with the largest budget to really enjoy it thoroughly. It is also not good for people to try to psyche musicians out by reminding them that they are small potatoes and not important. I really believe that the under ground music scene in every genre is important.
  5. I have to fly now. I am resting my infection. I think people should not focus on hits, and not compare themselves to the wealthiest of people out there, but focus on their music. There are so many important musicians out there who are not well known. Not all are recording in the finest studios. I received a record from Nada Records in Israel and there were some recording flaws, but the heart and soul was there.. I don't care about these big names all the time, though I respect Ravi, ....there is a big big world and alot of really great sounds...got to fly.
  6. I enjoyed Mr. Grumpy's opinion and also all of you are being honest and that is great. Steve.....is right on too. ..well, at least that hit home with my heart. Mr. Grumpy hit upon the fact that the roland has a great ability to record and record a nice clean record. It is most important to have good mics..and good pres..compressors... and instruments..and passion but I have been in some of the best professional studios in the country...Not for long though since I am not rich.. I know that extremely expensive analog studios or digital and analog studios that are best in the country can sort of put out a more beautiful sound... in terms of quality... I know my roland may never match up...maybe I am wrong, but I am probably right... I think with extra hard work...I can get some beautiful sounds out of my equipment... I am not trying to record a hit record as much as record something I am proud of.
  7. I lived in NYC, Boston and outside of Philadelphia most of my life. I am now in Rochester NY, a very conservative city that is not cosmopolitian. I like variety of people also Blue 2 Blue and I miss that alot. I hate the one dimentionalism of this city!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I have been around in many cities and places.. I have met and known some terrible folks who are of other faiths and beliefs.. But I was in the church for years suffering because I found that Christianity seemed to not have better people then the outside world... so I stopped going to church and I met actually nicer people who didn't claim they were Christian... I know nasty and good people are of all faiths... But my personal experience with Christianity was not good. ..not that God is at fault, but that the religion in this country. I loved living in NYC so I could befriend Hindus and other types of people to find out what they believe. I am not a follower... I just don't like to follow... that is just me... California is great, I have a sister in LA and a very good friend, almost a boyfriend in San Francisco who may visit me soon. I know it is hard to live there because I hear about it. It is very expensive. I want to move from here. I like Woodstock NY...
  8. Interesting. I am not up on everything. M powered devices are new to me. I should look into what you are saying, though I don't fully understand it.
  9. (Note: this is what Aluminum Neck said January 2009 on a Protools focused thread.) Protools is really alot of hype. There are many good functional DAW's that work as good or better and offer a much broader compatability matrix. I give protools a big thumbs down. (Note: this is what Aluminum Neck said January 2009 on a Protools focused thread.) Aluminum Neck, have you changed your mind since January about Protools. You seem really happy with it now...what changed your mind? Can you please elaborate. I want to know what other equipment you may think is better or just as good.
  10. I like roland workstations but I don't like eight tracks. It is difficult to use from that aspect. If Pro Tools is easier, it is probably because it is easier to get the results you want. I like the workstation because I am now comfortable with it. ..I wouldn't mind getting something easier to use with alot more tracks.
  11. Well, I just ran into another Christian Ultra conservative..about two others on line..miserable folks... They seem more uptight, anal and depressed then other people ... some Christians are winsome and happy, while most seem more miserable, insulting and selfish .... it is hard to explain. It is because Christianity believes that the elite will make it to heaven and Christianity can sometimes attract people who are into elitism...people who need to be above and beyond the average human. If you get my drift. It is hard to explain. I do not want to talk about this anymore as I don't want to offend anyone. I think I have professional ears. I may not be up to par with my knowledge from a technical aspect..but I redo things over and over and experiment untill it sounds like someone other then a Rookie recorded it. Right now, I am unhappy with my last track..so I am redoing the whole thing..and have much better levels and ideas... Trial and error even for the most experienced person .... even the most experienced engineer should experiment with different ideas and not assume the old ideas will always work over and over.. Also, California sounds like a stressful place to live.
  12. I looked up Sheepel in the Urban dictionary. I did think that your definition was what I thought it meant from the beginning. Where did you get this definition? Is it in the dictionary?? Slang? Yes, there are many followers out there. I used to be more weak-minded, but over-came it to a large degree.
  13. Real pros can be she's too. You keep assuming that I am HE. I am a she. Thankyou for your input though. I looked up Sheepel in the middle of my work.. I stand up for my rights, and just walked over to talk to them in person about their snotty vibe they give me. They were defensive and keep talking about how they are Christians. They are cold people. I don't see what they are talking about. I have never had neighbors who were this snotty that they didn't want to come into my house or insulted my life. It is unfortunate. I won't be back to discuss this. I am ordering the Plextor Burner today or tomorrow. Thankyou again for your feedback... and remember....SHE's can be as pro as HE's.....
  14. I don't hate Christians. I just don't like the bad attitude from these people that think everything is a competition. They ask me what my house looks like, knowing it is not re-modeled from speaking to my landlord...and seeing it from the outside. They just like to make people feel badly about not having material things.... They were invited into my home and they said no....twice.. They put down everything I own and my whole personal life... It is a shame they moved in... I don't own the home, so I will be moving .... Art is not a competition....it is just a medium for enjoyment and pleasure and many people think it is a competition. Some people who claim to be holy can't enjoy life because it is considered evil.... I am just enjoying getting down to business with some music in my home... They are not enjoying life because they are concerned about appearances and their ultra clean and perfect life...their perfect home.. My neighbors before them were not claiming to be christians but didn't give off their snotty vibe.... I will try not to let it bother me...I want to enjoy life.... some people don't like to see others happy with what they have. I think I have alot to be grateful for.
