  1. From some posts it sounds like they believe the neck is going to get bent out of shape just from leaving the strings off or leaving them on which is very unlikely, barring extreme climate changes and neglect. Right, I would like to hear Hecticone comment about how replacement necks don't get warped if they don't get mounted to a guitar sometimes for years. For example some of those vintage Kramer necks circa 1988 or so that were uncovered in that buy out back in 89 or 90. Those necks would be trashed according to Hecticone's logic that they must be kept under constant string tension. Never heard anyone complain their vintage virgin 1988 neck was warped or unplayable when they did string it up 15-20 years later. Same thing goes for a vintage Charvel Model 6 sans pickups and trem and bare wood. It was already fretted and the Model 6 is neck-throughso it was built as far as body/neck. IIRC someone on the Jackson/Charvel forum bought that a few years ago set it up and it was like a factory new Charvel. I'm not convinced you totally thought your argument through as I have pointed out flaws. Heck I even have a Kramer neck I bought in 1988 from Victor Litz I never installed and that neck has been stored in an SKB case along with a Kramer body blank. No warp or bow to that neck at all and it's never been installed.
  2. It's only dangerous if the truss rod isn't loosened to compensate. I have bought guitars that haven't had strings on for over 5 years and the neck was fine... Heck I have several necks for projects that have never been installed I either bought new or used and they are not warped.
  3. Pics not working. What color is this one? I wouldn't mind another bronze AES820. The AES820 was the top of the line of these AES Les Paul models.
  4. So there is no way I could have stated I will buy it without you selling it to the other guy first?
  5. Sorry for not making myself clearer then. Had I stated I was going to the show (and wouldn't receive your PM until the following day) but made it more clear that if the leads were long enough I would 100% buy it, would you have sold it to me even if the other buyer would have offered to pay you immediately? (I wouldn't have known either way as I left for the show 9 minutes before your response of someone else swooping in on the deal) I actually checked in this morning with the intention of paypalling you the cash for it as I had full intentions on buying it.
  6. +1 for ShizzelDizzel pickups received as advertised. Thanks a lot!
  7. Here is the sequence of events at it happened: I wrote at 4:33pm: "Also how long are the leads. Most likely I'd use it for the neck as I need a hotter bridge pickup. If you can get springs and screws that fit it, I will most likely buy it provided you can meet the other requirements I mentioned." a minute earlier at 4:32pm Twotimingpete wrote: "okay, it took me all of 30 seconds to find. I have the box, screws, and springs it came with." (I didn't read this message until I after I wrote my message at 4:33pm) I read his post and waited until 5pm to get an answer whether the leads were long enough for the neck position, and as I stated if those requirements are met I will buy it. Short of saying, "I will take it" I was saying "most likely buy it" as a condition if the leads were long enough I will buy it. I had to leave at this point for the Living Colour concert in New Port Richey and didn't get home till well after 3am. At 5:09pm he wrote: "it has the spring and the screws that came with it. it also has the full lead (I never shorten leads) which is pretty long. I can't measure it until I disinstall it from the axe it's in." my car broke so I may not be able to ship until Monday. so you have time to think about it unless someone else swoops in." There was nothing for me to think about. I left the idea that I would buy it provided it had the screws and springs (which I found out it did before I left for the show) AND the leads were long enough for the neck (which I didn't read that message until this morning). If I were the seller in this situation and the same thing happened to me and had another interested party for the pickup, I would tell the second person, "There is person that is planning on buying the pickup but I have to wait to find out if he will take it for sure as he was waiting to hear back from me if the lead was long enough. Once I hear back from him I will let you know. For now you are the backup offer." Is this too much to ask for people to be considerate like I always am? Twotimingpete I am sorry for lashing out but I am frustrated when people do this.
  8. -1 for TWOTIMINGPETE (appropriate name here) I was going to buy his BGBucker and I was just waiting for him to get back to me on the length but told him I would take it if the length wasn't too short. I leave to go to the Living Colour show in New Port Richey and sign on today to find out the jerk sells it so someone else. What kind of scum does this seriously? I have had this happen 5 or 6 times in the last month or so. Does our word mean nothing anymore and is it pure greed for money that dictates anything. I have nothing good to say for people like this. Last week I drove 30-40 miles to pick up a Olympic weight set from some schmuck on Craiglist that I AGREED to buy the day before via email after I confirmed the condition was good based on the pictures he sent. That SHOULD be a done deal right? I drive down there and call the scum bag 5 minutes before I get to his house as was his instructions only to get a rude, "It's been sold." BS. When I told him we had a freaking agreement I was buying it, he was like, "It's not my problem..." I half wanted to go to his house then and beat the crap out of him, but I am not going to jail for some scum bag and their crooked ways. Yeah two-timing pete, you are living up to your name for sure buddy. Have a nice life and if this is the way you do business, you're going to need it you freaking jerk.
  9. FlawedThawed and blackmonday both came through for the deals I bought from them. Thanks guys. Both are great to deal with.
  10. IBDBB was a pleasure to deal with. He even threw in a set of acoustic and electric strings. Excellent!
  11. I still think he's a pretty boy {censored}. He was visibly agitated about not being the headliner. He made a couple of sarcastic comments about having to play second chair to Priest. "We've never seen this place in the daylight..." Whitesnake represents everything I hated about their particular Loverboy genre of music in the 80's. That's why so many of us welcomed Soundgarden, Nirvana and Pearl Jam with open arms. +1 THIS!
  12. Sucks for Coverdale, but probably a win/win for Judas Priest. Maybe they can get a heavier band to tour with now
  13. If it is not them then who are they? If it is them then they turned out pretty rough. You would have expected the girls to have turned out stunning and not look like Ozzy in drag...
  14. Atrox came through perfectly which was no suprise. Nice tuners and pickups. Soulcrusher X came through as well. Great communication for the both of them!
