Focusrite recently released firmware and drivers for their Saffire Pro fire-wire preamps that work on 64-bit Vista. I have two saffire pros I daisy chain together for 16 simultaneous tracks, and just started using them with Sonar Producer 6.2.1 in 64-bit mode on Vista Ultimate 64 and have had decently good results. It's at least no worse that when I was running the 32 bit version on XP pro (32-bit). Hopefully it will get better and better as more updates come out. I only have 2 gig of ram, but I'll be upgrading in the near future. The saffire pro 26i/o (x2) and Sonar Producer 6 rig is under $2000. For 16 simultaneous recording tracks with 64 bit precision, it's not a bad deal. It's comparable to what you would need to spend on a 32 bit protools LE rig with the same number of inputs (that currently only works with XP).
