Members JohnnyRaincheck
What if you wanted to change the Rosewood neck on your MIM Strat, you're in a Mom and POP, checking the necks and you come across a really really nice maple Tele neck. It's as smooth as a piece of glass on the beach, the nicest neck you've come across in some time. Realizing that there is some adjustment and shaping involved, would you go for it? Or is this angering the gods?
Members sk-at-ks
eff that noise. it's just a guitar. it's not like it's made from the One True Cross or anything. build it.

Members chiro972
Looked good on the squier 51's also. BTW, if you want to sell that MIM rosewood neck, hit me up with a PM.
Members JoeBoy
I had a Strat with a Tele neck back in the 70s. Wish I still had it. I bought it that way from a player that was broke.

Members Lex.Luthier
Bear in mind a Tele neck isnt a 100% fit for a Strat neck pocket. It will bolt on fine but there may not be enough adjustment available in the bridge to get the guitar intonated properly without rounding the neck heel or squaring the body pocket. Members SurveyofSociety
As everyone has said.... "Squier '51" Damn shame the price of them has shot through the roof on the second hand market. Squier must be kickin' themselves Why don't they make more ? I'd tap a few!!! Do they not realise that people like to modify and do upgrades and Squiers are good "base" guitars.

Members wyldefreebyrd
Allen Collins had a strat with a tele neck. Looking for a picture and will post if I can find one.
Members Alecto
Ask Ian Moore, a Texas-based guitarist who was saddled in the "next Stevie Ray" camp for a while. Here's a closer look at his #1 Strat, which has an Esquire neck.
Members JC777
I think there were a couple of models from Fender that mixed the two before the Squier 51. I remember seeing them but don't remember the details
Members Cavadge
I've put a strat neck on a tele... had to lop off a fret, round the heel, and open the neck pocket up a bit. Not sure going the other way will work as expected. As mentioned, intonation may be a big problem, fitting it will be the biggest issue. Members JohnnyRaincheck
Thanks for the advice guys... I'll post some picks after. I'm thinking some gold hardware from GFS would add the finishing touch. Pimpin..
