Members rocknhard
I love listening to his sound at times, his style of progressive rock is very interesting. Anyhone know what he used for gear? Thanks.
Members wedgehed II
I seem to recall him playing a Les Paul with a Floyd Rose tremolo.
Members Furtive
I think during the Genesis days it was a late 60's Les Paul with mini humbuckers.
Moderators Ratae Corieltauvorum Posted March 15, 2009 Moderators Share Posted March 15, 2009 Mostly IIRC a Fernandes LP style with FR, also a 57 LP and there's a sustainer guitar involved too, and he's an E bow user
Members tim gueguen
Which period of Hackett are you interested in? He's gone through quite a few guitars over the years. For example he's probably the only name user of the Ovation UK II electric guitar, playing one in the early '80s.

Members 57GLDTP
I think during the Genesis days it was a late 60's Les Paul with mini humbuckers. It's a 71 that Steve bought brand new right after joining the band that year.(he also had a sunburst mini bucker LP around that same time.) In addition to the guitars already mentioned he also played a LP Custom early on & has a sweet 57 Gold Top as well. 57GT:)
