Members Brewski Posted August 13, 2009 Members Share Posted August 13, 2009 AL2000 pups are ceramic - meaning they have a bit more edge. Personally I don't like the edge and replace mine with JB's in bridge and have a Jazz but want to try the '59 in the neck spot. I understand the ceramic pup's are hotter - but for me that is good. I like Epi's too. I just can't find any cheap used ones. Members ihavenofish Posted August 20, 2009 Members Share Posted August 20, 2009 i have a korean lp custom, and i think the agile 2000 pickups are better overall. the epis sound like they have a wet paper bag on top of the speaker. not sure why, ive tried different heights and whatnot. i dont know if the newer chinese epi pickups sound different. they both are labeled alnico classic.
