Members 23miles
If I had $500 to buy an amplifier, Guitar Center is the last place I'd look. Their prices are not very good. $500 will buy you a pretty nice used amplifier. Here is a list of amplifiers I bought used for >$500:Fender Deluxe Reverb Re-IssueAmpeg Gemini IIThese were >$400:Ampeg Reverberocket IITraynor YCV-20WRThese were > $125:Fender Princeton ChorusAmpeg SS-
Members caeman
So, you have a $500 budget for a non-gigging, just-for-practice-at-home amp. Sounds to me like you could save some coin by going with one of those tiny 5w tube amps. Plenty loud if you are into loud for the sake of being loud. Small, easy to stow away. Then you spend the rest of the money on effects pedals.
Members Larry the Dog
Went with the HT5 and a Vox Tonelab. Just got up here after playing for about 90 minutes. LOVE the sound, but will prolly spend the evening tweaking quite a bit. I guess the rumors are true......the Blackstar is a little beast. The Tonelab's gonna take a while to figure out tho........
