Members GCDEF
I will be trying out the Planet Waves strap with my new Epi LP. Interested to see how well the locking mechanism works. Tough to get an idea of how well the locks will work from just a picture. On my current Epi LP I had to grind down the head of a large thread screw as the supplied screw kept working its way out. Once every month or so the whole screw would pull out of the guitar (luckily I always caught the guitar before it hit the ground and took damage). Since I have replaced the screw (3 or 4 months now) it has not worked its way out and is still firmly in place. It works really well. That strap isn't coming off unless you want it to. I had the same problem with my Gibson. The strap button came out. I put a toothpick and some wood glue in the hole and put the button back in. It hasn't come out since. Members hshaitan
Just get those plastic strap locks, cheap and no mods required! I think Dunlop makes these things. You should be able to order them or buy them off of their website.
Members ashasha
Use the original screws or just find some that are the same thread but perhaps a 1/4-1/2" longer in order to get into some new meat. Anything more and you risk cracking stuff.
Members H bowman
My 2008 standard came with locking strap hardware, they look identical to the schallers I’m betting they would match up perfectly. I could never, ever use glue and a mAtch stick on any of my LP’s just get the correct thread screw
