Members danxrs05
Hey guys. I want recommendations on USB interfaces. I need something decent to record at home. At least 2 inputs or more. USB. Good quality but I don't want to spend 1000$. I was looking at the M-Audio Fast Track Pro, but I also want your opinions and recommendations. Thanks! Members jelloman
do you have recording software?
Members Prages
I used a Lexicon Omega for a year or so before getting a Presonus Firepod. If you've got a firewire port, I'd recommend the Firepod, just so you'll get more inputs. The Lexicon worked well for me though. 2 mic pres and 4 line ins. Can record 4 tracks simultaneously. The Firepod has 8 mic pres/line ins and 2 digital ins. 8 analog and 2 digitral tracks simultaneous recording, and if you need more, you can daisy chain up to 3 of them together for 24 inputs. Members Into Nation
I'm using this one with Win XP:Seems to work fine for what I do. It has phantom power that I think the M-Audio doesn't have.
Members danxrs05
M-Audio HAS the Phantom Power. I have the Fast Track, but it has only one input so that's the reason I want to change.
Members etawful
Pod Studio UX2 works pretty darn well for $199. Has two instrument inputs, as well as two mic inputs. I use mine both into the computer, and run the anlog out from it to my Tech 21 Power Engine.

Members etawful
I was heading here as well... Plus it has those snazzy analog meters on the front, that's got to count for something. (oh and it has the phantom power from the USB cable as well). Oh, and it includes Pod Farm software which isn't too bad. I run it using Pod Farm, Guitar Rig 4, etc. There's also the JamVox device which is kind of cool. http://www.voxamps.com/jamvox/ It has some good models, makes a good interface, has it's own monitor built in (for what it's worth) and has a nifty piece of software that does a good job of removing the lead guitar (or any other track) from a recording. It's better than others I've seen because it doesn't just drop a preset frequency range or track, it lets you adjust it for what you want). Members etawful
What's the meter for? (newbie speaking! ) Just a visual display of the sound level like you'd see on an old school power amp or recording device. It's basically to show your sound level and how close you are to clipping . Members Prages
What's the meter for? (newbie speaking! ) Looks more than anything.Theoretically, it should be measuring your input signal, but you'd do that with the software meter anyway.
