How versitile is a jazzmaster or jag

The GFS offsets are rather different animals than an actual Fender Jazzmaster or Jaguar, in large part because they don't have the same kind of pickups.

A classic-style Jazzmaster is probably going to be able to cover around the same amount of sonic territory as a Strat, although it is a fairly different-sounding guitar. A Jaguar, I think it's reasonable to say, has a more unique sound- and so while it's got a lot of personality it's also less versatile.

However, Fender has a bunch of other Jag and Jazz versions than the straight-up re-issues, some more radical remakes than others. Plus there are are kind of modifications one can do themself.

So really, I think the answer to your question is "as much as yyou want them to be."
