My first project of the year is to refinish one of my strat bodies in Reranch Tahitian Coral followed by the vintage clear and I need some more inspiration. I also like fiesta red when it's not too bright and sort of flat (like that ax you posted). As far as relic'ing, I'd say go for it - just don't go overboard and it will look great with that color.
