Members WVUman222
Quick question. With the ASAT Classic. I see where the butterscotch blonde is around 1200. I also see where the natural finish is 600. They seem to have the exact same description, the only different is the color and one comes with a hardshell case. Is there something I'm missing here? http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/G&L-ASAT-Classic-LeftHanded-Electric-Guitar?sku=502725&src=3WFRWXX&ZYXSEM=0&CAWELAID=411432277 http://adirondackguitar.com/lefty/g_l/asat_Classic_blonde.htm
Members Selsaral
The first is a Tribute, the one made in Asia with G&L specs and American-made G&L pickups. The second is an American made G&L.
Members WVUman222
Makes sense, thanks! Would you say it's worth it or not worth it to get the american over the asia made? Kinda the same as Fender with the Americans and Mexicans?
Members Selsaral
I don't have experience with these particular guitars, but yeah the concept is the same. IMHO, if when you play them you can't tell a difference, there's no reason to buy the more expensive one unless you have plenty of discretionary cash. There's a large learning curve regarding guitars and I think it's healthy to accept that you have to buy and sell a lot of them to really learn what the differences are. Members ashtray
The tributes aren't bad. I have one and it's a very nice guitar. My USA asat just seems nicer though. For my needs (weekend gigs, casual playing) the tribute is what I use 90% of the time. USA asat doesn't leave the house usually. Less to worry about. Members DavidMgT
Unlike another company that makes a tele there is indeed a vast and noticeable difference between G&Ls Tributes and US Models. I would suggest you get the USA ASAT.

I would suggest you get the USA ASAT. +1 Difficult to appreciate what a USA G&L is like until you have one in your hands. No substitute. I doubt the Fender custom shop could even compete with a run of the mill G&L coming out of Fullerton these days.
