Members eudaimonia02912
I have the opportunity to pick one of these up for around $500 or less in good condition. I'd never heard of these before, but a quick glance around the internet makes it seem like they are quite cool guitars. Any thoughts on these? Members wedgehed II
Is it the one with the fulcrum tremolo? w/GFS lipsticks When I bought it, it had a Hotrail.
Members vaguelee
Old faithful, she's going in the ground with me! I put the JB jr. in the bridge over a decade ago, have no idea where the single coil went. Don't have the heart to take off the stickers I put on there as a kid. I don't even know if I could be objective about this guitar, quality-wise. Great player, trem stays in tune great, although the feel of the trem isn't as smooth as a Floyd or Edge. Edit: the trem on this one is a Kahler Spyder, it has gotten a few jabs from strat purists.
Members eudaimonia02912
It has a System 1 tremolo, so I guess that's a Schaller, not a Kahler. I just found it online, so I don't have a ton of information on it. I can put a deposit on it, have the store ship it to a closer store in my chain, and then get my deposit back if I don't like it. I don't have a pic of the actual guitar, but it looks like this (though with a smoother sunburst):http://cgi.ebay.com/1986-Fender-Stratocaster-Strat-Electric-Guitar-Japan_W0QQitemZ200473576638QQcategoryZ33034QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4069.m7QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D8413587470108842477#ht_720wt_1139

I don't usually dig black Strats (or black guitars in general), but the lipstick pickups really make it lively and interesting.
Members ashtray
Do a search for contemporary stratocaster. That's what the model was called. 5 bones sounds like an ok price, not stellar, but ok. Wouldn't pay more than that for one.
