Ever put a matchbook between your strings

Seen the video before and I think it's a fun trick on a jazz-box or acoustic for a kind of 'uke' sound. I don't really do it myself, but I could see it coming in handy for studio use to get the effect for some things.

 

I do use a piece of foam at the top of the fretboard for a string damper though, for lead runs and songs where I won't play and open notes.

Flash Back from about 30 years ago. During my classical guitar phase there was a song that I played that required the detuning of the 6th and 5th strings, then you twisted them together and plucked them with the thumb. Sounded a LOT like a loose snare drum.
