Members naz420
I just bought a Black Les Paul Studio that was built in 2002. If I pull the pick-ups out will it say what type they are? It sounds great and I'm super happy with it but I'm curious
Members onelife
The Gibson Les Paul Studio is every bit a Les Paul without the plastic (binding) and the big price tag. They are absolutely the best value in a Les Paul. The pickups are what they call Modern Classics and are very similar to the old PAF pickups but with a bit more output. The bridge pickup is quite hot but not at the expense of tone. If you take them out of your guitar, you will only see the modern Gibson USA logo on the underside. Congrats on getting a great guitar. Mine was black until the finish was stripped off after a broken headstock repair. Now it is the best guitar I have ever owned. www.gibson.com/en%2Dus/Divisions/Gibson%20Gear/Pickups/Modern%20Classics/
Members naz420
Thanks for the info. For some reason when I researched it online I found some that had the burstbucker pro v and some that have the 498t
Members 59humbucker
AFAIRC most studios come with some varient of the 490 series p'ups. Some more recent ones come with burstbuckers but this tends to be the VM and faded series edit, just followed the previously posted link, had no idea the 490's were now branded "modern classics" live and learn etc
Members Mogwai
Yeah probably 490/498. Unless its a vm or faded.
