Members Rangerbob86
I just got an ibanez rg350dx from my buddy...and its the first guitar ive ever played that didnt have a fixed bridge. just a quick question...im not positive if its missing parts or not. I thought there were supposed to be nut locks on the headstock however there is nothing there...but there are 3 screw holes. I attached a picture of what it looks like. am I missing something? if so, where could it be purchased? thanks so much!
Members wimpy77
you need string locking clamps and screws. those are easy to get just to a internet search.
Members Rangerbob86
I found this site: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,_tailpieces/Electric_guitar_tremolo_parts/Floyd_Rose_tremolos_and_parts.html which has a section for floyd rose parts...would I want a locking nut set? or just clamps and screws. also, i didnt know if the floyd rose parts worked because its called an edge III. thanks again
Members GodBlessTexas
The parts you need are OEM made for Ibanez. I don't think Floyd Rose made or replacement parts will fit. The pads might, but the screws probably won't. Rich at Ibanezrules.com probably has what you need in stock. Send him an e-mail. http://www.ibanezrules.com/parts.htm
Members Orange Jackson
(edit: ^beat me to it! ) If it was me, I would contact Rich at Ibanez rules. He is the go to Ibanez guy, he will have all your ibanez parts and info to get the guitar right. Also, you mentioned that this is your first guitar with a floyd. I recommend reading over the "Tech" pages at Ibanez rules for a good understanding of how to set your guitar up. main site, http://www.ibanezrules.com/ and tech pages, http://www.ibanezrules.com/tech/setup/index.htm Basics that you need to know are this, DO NOT turn the post screws (floyd height adjustment/ action) with tension on the strings. This this will dull the knife edges on the floyd and cause tunning stability issues, as well as ruin your floyd. Also it is important that you get the spring tension and spring tension to be equal. On most floyds, this means that the base plate of the floyd needs to be parallel with the top surface of the body, but with the angles built into the edge trem itself it is not so clear cut for me. There will be good info on Rich's page for this exact trem as well.
