This time to me,

I had quite a time tracking one down

the first one had a problem with the neck, and then I just couldn't find one boxed so

I ...had

to settle

for a

shelf

unit.

That turned out to be just fine because you know what?

I had forgotten how well that one played when I sat down to try it out 2 weeks ago!

Turns out this one was set up just right, no scratches

they put a marble-like shine on it before I left

and I got it OTD with a HSC for $350 so I can't complain.

This bass is so sweet mainly because of the Deluxe set-up of a P-bass and J-bass pickup config then the '62 stacked concentric controls, which were the items that got my attention. The quick change in tone and and settings on the fly made that very desireable, but I may want to add a toggle later to switch between p'ups. Maybe a parallel switch too? (yea, they could have put the two switches uptop for that but no...)

Overall I love this bass and for the price it's a steal!

Sweet! I have an older Japanese Fernandes Jazz bass which is fine for my needs, but everytime I play one of the Squier Classic Vibe 50s P' Bass, it makes me want to take one home. Just not sure how I'd get along with that pickup.

Congrats, but I've never understood that search. Why would you fall in love with a guitar and then demand that you have one in an unopened box, especially on an import guitar. I guess a lot of people don't realize how much this type of thing usually needs set up out of the box, therein being one of the reasons to by in store and not directly from a distributor. Unless you're putting it in a glass case, just get the one you played and liked. You live, you learn.

I kind of realized that

but new is new and if I'm buying I want my candy in the package.

It all worked out in the end.

I got a great price on a great bass and that's all I really wanted.

The box would've gotten thrown away regardless.

Better their dumpster than my little ol crowded curbside pickup container
