Members burton4snow
I have a Epiphone Wilshire Pro and the pickups in it real are flat sounding. I am thinking about putting GFS Dream 180s. These are supposed to be a brighter P-90 type pickup and I am worried that putting these in such a thin guitar will make them sound shrill and ice picky. Do I have anything to worry about here? All of my other guitars are a pretty beefy piece of wood. Do thinner guitars make the pickups sound thinner? Members guitarcapo
The pickups sound the way they do pretty much regardless of what they are bolted on to. WHERE they are located along the string length and its scale plays a role though. If the guitar is hollow they might sound a little different because the pickups themselves shake more in that situation too.
Members nighthawk15
You won't really know until you give it a shot. Bright pickups in Mahogany usually work well though I think.
