G&L S500 vs G&L Legacy?

This is very subjective, but the Legacy sounds (to me) more like a Fender Strat (but with a bit more oomph available). I'm surprised you thought the S-500 sounded similar, as you can get lots of tonal variation with the MFD pups and the toggle switch with lots of pickup combinations (IMO, of course).

I guess you could say that, as the S-500 was supposed to be Leo's continuation of where the Fender Strat would have gone had it evolved.

The S-500 is definitely hotter to me.

Nothing bad I can say about either the Legacy or the S-500, though.

If I had to choose between the Legacy or the S-500, I'd pick the S-500 because of the overall versatility of it. However, I've never really been on the quest for "True Strat" tone, so... I just pick what I think would be best for my style of music and playing.

another significant difference is that most Comanches have maple caps.

True,almost all-but then again almost

Mine is a 1 piece mahagonay

Their is annother (1.000.00 repetition)thread wether wood matters-->YES it does

But pickups matter to at least same degree--> I think even more

Often said here-->all depends on the taste but me (if I would not have a Comanche ) would pick the S500 all the time ,and if it is just to sound different to the myrads of Fenders arround
