Members Bro Blue
The CV is well worth the extra cash. I have had a few Xaviere guitars and they were ok, worth about what I paid for them. I still have an XV-500 that I bought as a blem that I like. The GFS pickups I have bought have been pretty good, as has the hardware.
Members kit_strong
Admittedly I have not played either of the guitars in question, but based on the quality of my Squire CV Tele, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the CV Strat.
Members BoneNut
So to say that they're always crappy is a gross exaggeration. Paint me a fanboy if you must, but I prefer to think of myself as fair and balanced. I don't think anyone on this thread has said that.
Members SpaceProg
Oh yeah, and by the way... CV Squier for me too.
Members Citizen Cain
Here is a link to the fly thread with pics http://www.tdpri.com/forum/other-guitars-other-instruments/261657-how-about-these-new-xavieres-guitarfetish-5.html Hahaha, I'm Jack Knife over on that forum. I got the surf green XV-950. It took a bit of work to make it playable but it's really starting to sound nice now. Definitely not worth $300 IMO, especially with the broken screw and finish issues. I've got an email in to Guitarfetish to see if they'll offer me a discount or store credit or some kind of adjustment.
