Members Bob Vila
Guys, ive got my trem all leveled out and can get it to stay in tune with minor trem use, if i start doing any heavy trem usage, my 5th string keeps slipping and going flat...pretty sure it is slipping at the nut. i do not want to tighten the locking nut down any tighter as im afraid ill be on the brink of stripping the threads...do you guys have any advice? i dont have any problem with the nut on my other S series. thanks! Members Pope on a Rope
Have you set the clamps in the right direction? It makes a difference with some locking nuts which they are faced or they'll slip. You may just need to rotate the clamp.
Members Bob Vila
i see one edge is totally smooth...and the other side is kinda concave...im assuming concave side towards headstock and flat side towards bridge?
Members Pope on a Rope
Whichever way keeps it in tune. Another thing it could be too that I've run into is an extra heavy E string that prevents the clamp from getting a good lock on the A string. Members 58flame
Try different gauge strings and see if you still have an issue.
