Members Lex.Luthier
Hey Guys and Gals! I bought a PRS Johnny Hiland sig off Ebay a while back. It was a nice sounding and great looking guitar but the neck wasnt for me, it was far too thin and I found the finish a little sticky. I didn't want to sell it as I got it for a great price and I always wanted an amber PRS but at the same time I was never playing it because of the issues with its neck so I had to do something with it. I sent an email to a luthier who came highly recommended to me by a friend and ended up calling over to his house and trying out some of his builds. I fell in love with the neck on one of his guitars and he agreed to replicate for me on the PRS. Here are some pics: Before: During: (notice the neck is made from a single piece of rosewood so no multi-piece headstock . Also, the truss rod canal is laminated with mahogany and carbon fiber for extra strength) Finished: (my initials, JFK, are inlaid on the truss rod cover. The F is the shape of an f-hole) Look at this neck joint!!!! Its absolutely stunning! I'm so in love with this guitar now

Members Lex.Luthier
Interesting solution! Awesome job, I love mahogany necks. Thanks man. The neck is rosewood though The original neck also had a slight deadspot at the 12th fret of the G, no such problems with this one
