Members Seano Porno
fwiw, I shielded my baja tele. The fact that it wasn't shielded from the factory actually bothered me. It sounds better, clearer, imo. Then again, I think all single coil guitars sound better shielded. This is what I wanted to hear!
Members J-E-M
I use tape; I've heard that shielding paint loses its conductive ability after some time - particularly the graphite based paint.
Members George Crosley
Foil or paint? How about film? Up until now I've been using copper foil. I cut it to fit, solder it together where needed, and adhere it with Elmer's craft adhesive spray that I picked up at Michael's. It works well. If Hello Music ever ships the 50's Classic Vibe Telecaster that I purchased a week ago, I plan on shielding it with something different; film. Awhile back I got my hands on some specialty film; one-mil gauge PET vacuum-metalized on one side with a few angstroms of Silver (Ag). I'm told that this will prove far more conductive than the copper foil I've been using. I'm not so sure that I can solder it though. In fact, I'm not even going to try. I'm sure it will help kill hum though. I shouldn't really mess with what works, and copper foil works, but curiosity is getting the best of me. Members Bruce Bennett
personally, I prefer the tape and shim stock brass, but I've worked out a method that works well for me and I see no reason to chnage it.. The "Paint" is a high nickle content paint. and while it does work. it has some minor electrical drawbacks.

Members plasticscouse
for those who like copper tape, this is recommended by some:http://www.gardeners.com/Copper-Slug-Tape/38-994,default,pd.html I've done this, my first (and so far only) project, not tidy as I'm not the best at it but it worked well. I didn't solder anything except the Jack socket
