anyone have some experience?

My dad has a Stellar gibson style hollowbody...he paid 199 for it and it came with a case, they now sell for bout 699 or so, and he loves the mess out of it, ive played it also, a very good guitar to play, sounds awesome as well, action is very good, neck is very good...only I dont like it cause its a hollowbody but my dad loves it..so yeah they are very good guitars for the price.

Old thread but thought I'd add in my two cents. (if it even means that much).

I bought a Stellar Mercury 005 in sunburst off the local classifieds a couple of years ago I wanted something different and bought this little jazzbox; for .. well maybe some blues, some rockabilly etc. I think I paid $250 for it; and it came with the case. The case wasn't the greatest, but does the job if you're not gigging with it night in and night out.. I don't think it could stand up to that, but the guitar in itself certainly could.. provided you make a few changes. The things require a set up as most of the little things are of low end quality, the nut, bridge and tuner keys.. and heck maybe even the pots too as they came loose. But a little work and love and this thing is not bad at all and indeed very nice to look at. The sound is equivallent or better than any Epiphone and IMHO any guitar that looks better, sounds better, and after some work .. plays better.. is certainly worthy of the look. Value.. sure.. I don't think you could find a better quality for a cheaper price and it is a USA company.. they make no mention however where the guitars are actually made and/or assembled. But .. decent quality woods are used, they might be heavy on the laquor though for some. But hey.. i'm kinda rough sometimes accidentally on guitars and it stands up to my accidental bumps. I have hopes of maybe trying some TV jones pickups in it, but those alone would be the cost of the guitar and then I'd prob have something close to Gretsch Electromatic series and would most likely be of the same quality then; and with TV Jones & no doubt still sound better. I'm pleased with my LP clone. Nice weight, binding work, correct horn. Be prepared to ugrade the pickups. Stock ones were fizzy and shrill to my ears

Mine was a b-stock snatched from ebay, 125 I believe  - the fretboard was lifting over an inch and a half from the nut. Easy fix.  I need to lose those gold pup rings. What was I thinking
