Members hangwire
The snare on this set has this plastic strip that fastens on the opposite side of the "clamp"... but it always seems to loosen (and VERY quickly) causing the snare to sound more like a flat tom with a rattle at the end. I am using duct tape to keep it tight, but even this has begun to work less and less effectively. DO they make snares that have other types of ends that won't slip? Any otehr info you can pass on to me? I'll e back online tomorrow to see the info! Thanks!
Members agogobill
tighten the screws that hold it down ... double the strap up if need be. or, you could replace that strap with nylon mason's string ... or get the string at a drumshop ... Pearl makes a small drumset repair kit with the string included.

Which also gives you an excuse to actually trim the cords to a proper length
