Members tats_dragon
I'm a guitar player that plays a little drums. I know the basic paradiddle and 10 or so beats. What instructional aid would you recommend? Jun
Members WillyRay
Ted Reed's "Syncopation" "Advanced Techniques" aka "The Chapin Book" These are the two that everybody should have. There are lots of other greats (The Gary Chester books, the Joe Morello books), but these two are, in my opinion, truly cannonical. /w

Members tats_dragon
Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like these books are classics. Just a quick question. In the Ted Reed book examples on Amazon there are two lines of notes is left/right hand or kick and snare? Jun
Members ArtVandelay
Buddy Rich's Snare Drum Rudiments book is outstanding. Breaks all the rudiments down in a way that you can understand them easily and work through them in multiple ways. I like taking a lot of them and, after getting the muscle memory down on the snare drum/pad, split them up among the drums to create beats or fills/solos.
